PAM3.3
utilizes the same schematic of
PAM1 and PAM2, but with different ingredients. A zipper with conductive thread
contacts connects to stranded AWG22 wire, which connects to standard LEDs.
This enables soldered connections to be made and increases the robustness of the
system. To protect the circuit and add volume, a clear plastic tube with a
felt sheath is used to form the necklace itself. The black felt sheath
forms a monolithic surface except where holes are punched in to let the LEDs'
lights through. Additionally, two power sources (3V batteries) were used
in this PAM: one for the red side and one for the green.
The overall look and feel of PAM3.3 is simple and solid, yet with soft to the touch with the felt. The light emitted from the LEDs could be brighter, but the overall robustness of the piece was greatly improved in version three.
